How Can I Book a Free Online Obituary?
A valuable resource, online notices allow Funeral Directors to offer families online donations and the opportunity to tell the story of a life sadly taken too soon.
The only thing you will need in order to book your first free online notice is an account with funeral-notices.co.uk. If you are unsure if you have an account, simply give us a call or request a callback/email at the bottom of this article.
Online notices may be booked 24/7 using our online self serve booking system or can be emailed into our team to be booked during office hours, Monday to Friday. An online notice may be booked to start immediately - great for families to be able to share their notice and start raising vital funds in memory of their loved one. Alternatively, you can select a future start date for the notice. All notices remain online forever.
When it comes to booking your first online notice, please log into funeral-notices.co.uk then select 'place a notice' in the top right hand corner.
Once logged in please select Death Notice followed by the Location you would like the notice listed under online.
The beauty of online only notices is that they may be linked to anywhere in the UK, so anyone searching for someone who has passed away, can search for their notice by locations they were known in or the specific name of the deceased. We would also encourage you to add additional notable locations where people may have previously lived, studied, worked etc.
At the Classification Stage - You should always select 'online only' here in order to use the free notices - even if we do have a paper in your chosen area.
Now follow the instructions and proceed to book your notice.
You can add up to FIVE free photos at the point of booking the notice and they do look much better with photos online. Once the notice is published the family may add as many additional images as they wish.
If you wish to add a donation link to the notice for the families chosen charity, you can add this on too - we send the funds directly to the charity allowing you to offer a completely cashless donation service on every notice.
Finally, to apply your discount to ensure the notice is free, please enter the code OFFER2022 into the Promotional Code box in the basket (image left).
The code will only discount online only notices and won't work where a print title has been selected. But you can still book print notices using this account if you wish to.
Online only notices may be published onto funeral-notices.co.uk immediately.
Families will really benefit from the online only notices if they are able to share their notices via messenger services or/and social media as soon as possible.
