Introducing QR Codes for Notices

QR codes are now available for every notice published after 5th July on funeral-notices.co.uk.
We are always working to enhance our notices for both funeral directors and the bereaved families you serve, we believe that these QR codes will prove to be a valuable tool in several ways.
Not only do they provide a convenient and efficient method for raising awareness and gathering contributions to charitable collections, but they also aim to increase the number of heartfelt tributes made to a loved one on their notice. As technology continues to shape the way we navigate and connect with the world, we are excited to be able to provide QR codes for every notice.
A QR code, short for Quick Response code, is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned using a smartphone or a QR code reader. When scanned, QR codes provide a quick and direct way for users to access the encoded information or perform specific actions.
QR codes offer a convenient link between printed information and online information. QR codes created by Funeral Notices provide a link to the relevant funeral notice online, enabling individuals to easily access and engage with additional information, tribute pages, or charitable collections. By simply scanning the QR code, mourners can seamlessly connect to a world of shared memories, heartfelt messages, and opportunities for honouring their loved ones.
Each funeral notice will generate a unique QR code. When the QR code is scanned the notice will be displayed on the mobile screen.

In order to help people to pay tribute to, or make a donation in memory of, a loved one you can add a QR code to the Order of Service design, print it out and pop it inside or place the QR code near the collection box - if online donations are being collected on the notice.
This will help people in attendance at the funeral to make a donation, even if they are not carrying any cash on them. If the family are not using the online donation service on their notice, the QR code can be used to raise awareness and invite additional tributes.
Each notice booked on funeral-notices.co.uk will generate a QR code. Once the notice is booked, we will send the QR code to you in a separate email.
You can send the QR code email, featuring the pre-designed page (example above), to your Order of Service provider to include, or print it out to distribute at the funeral. The pre-designed page includes instructions on how to use the QR code.
Each QR code provides a direct link to the corresponding notice.
QR codes work with most mobile devices
If you would like to receive the QR code email get in touch and let us know. We will activate it in the background and you'll receive a QR code via email for every notice you book. If you have multiple branches, we can activate it at the branch level so that only the branch that would like to use the service will receive the emails.
Alternatively, you can access the QR code by going into your booking history on our self-serve booking system at any time. Simply click on 'Your Booking History' and you'll see the prompt 'Get QR Code' on the right-hand side beneath the price breakdown. Click on that and download the QR code.
If we book your notices just let us know you that would like a QR code for a specific notice and we will send it over.
QR codes will be available for every notice published after 5th July 2023. It is not possible to publish a QR code in newspapers as yet, but that is something we are looking to develop in the future.
