Do you offer families an online notice?

We understand not every family wishes to create a traditional newspaper obituary for their loved one which is why we also provide online funeral notices. If you've not yet offered your families an online notice, you won't know they offer exceptional value at just £36 (cost to families). Online notices, also known as online obituaries, tribute pages or digital notices, are an excellent way to capture the essence of a loved one, creating an everlasting legacy - something that will benefit the whole family for years to come.

Many funeral directors already offer online notices as part of their arrangements.

If you haven't booked a digital notice yet, here are a few examples of when to offer one to your families.

If a family...

•would like to announce the passing of their loved ones but newspapers are not their preferred media
•wish to raise charitable donations in memory of their loved one
•are on a budget or
•are considering announcing the passing on social media but might prefer a more sensitive approach, where friends and family can still interact with condolence messages, photos, and memories of their loved one.

Then publish a funeral notice on funeral-notices.co.uk.

It takes less than 5 minutes to log into your account, create the notice and publish it immediately.

We recently published an online notice on behalf of Lord-Brown & Harty Funeral Directors in Llandudno.

The notice for the late Roy Squire was published on Funeral Notices on 31st January 2024 and has received more than 1600 views, £190 in donations to RNLI and Cancer Research and 24 tributes.

The feedback we receive from families and Funeral Directors is overwhelmingly positive, with families taking comfort from the tributes on their notices. It is really humbling to read each and every notice we publish; reading through the tributes you can really build a picture of what their life was like and what they mean to the people that love them.

Benefits of an online notice

Digital notices are a great way for families to collect donations. Donations are available on all notices and may be raised for up to 5 charities/good causes.

There is no cost to families or Funeral Directors for this service and we provide charities with the information needed to collect Gift Aid - adding an extra 25p to every £1 donated.

Our fantastic audience means we can raise some fantastic amounts for local, national and global charities on notices placed by UK Funeral Directors.

All of our notices may be shared via all of the popular social media, messaging, email apps and websites. Unlike social media posts, funeral notice tribute pages are easy to find, to return to and visit whenever and wherever you like, offering comfort to loved ones across the UK.

Notices also come with the option to include a QR code - great for collecting online donations from people at the funeral.

All notices that appear on funeral-notices.co.uk provide families with a free tribute service allowing people to add unlimited messages of condolence, share memories and upload photos. People also have an opportunity to reply to tributes directly and we have many instances of family thanking people for their kind words or donation.

The tribute reply function allows people to send their email addresses to the person who left the tribute; helping friends and family stay in touch with one another.
